Spotlighting Green Infrastructure and the Built Environment at Innovation Zero World 2025

Mayors

SESSION SPOTLIGHT

London, Manchester, and Liverpool have each set out innovative Net Zero by 2030 plans to address the climate challenge across the built environment and infrastructure, transport and power supply. They also seek to tackle the ever-increasing issue of climate adaptation, to ensure their urban areas – with a combined population of over 10 million people – are well-equipped and resilient to rising sea levels, and changes in temperature and weather patterns.

Innovation Zero is excited to announce Mayor Andy Burnham, Mayor Steve Rotheram and Deputy Mayor Mete Coban MBE will join the Main Stage alongside London Climate Resilience Review Chair Emma Howard Boyd CBE to interrogate resilience planning and financing to support their respective communities in the session Leading the Resilient Cities of Tomorrow.

Since its launch in 2023, Zero In has hosted a number of interviews and articles with thought leaders across the Built Environment and Infrastructure sectors.

This includes our interview with Peter Runacres, Head of Urban Futures at the Earls Court Development Company who shared their masterplan for the transformation of the 40 acre, former Earls Court Exhibition Centre site – just a few streets away from our congress venue of the Olympia – including 4,000 new homes, 1,000+ new trees planted, zero carbon low-cost energy, improved air quality and water management, and climate resilient planting.

Check out our interview here!

We’re delighted to say that Peter will be speaking again at Innovation Zero following his participation in 2024, to share progress updates and how their environmental strategy is materialising, in our session Transforming Urban Areas for Net Zero.
