Sam Alvis

Director, Energy + Environment, Public First

Sam is Director of Energy at Public First, author of the climate newsletter, Election Energy, and an Associate Fellow in Green Industrial Policy at the progressive think-tank IPPR. He is a former advisor to the Labour Party both on energy and climate and on broader economic policy and has worked in policy roles at the Green Alliance, for Tony Blair, and on innovation and Brexit for the Wellcome Trust. Sam is on the board of Bristol Museums Development Trust, a member of Chatham House’s governing board, and a state school governor. He holds a Climate Change MSc.
