Karen is a Technical Director with over 30 years’ experience working within environmental consultancy. As part of the AtkinsRéalis’ Engineering Net Zero Programme she works across the globe supporting on carbon management, climate resilience and sustainability. Her work focuses on developing the tools and processes to embed a consistent approach to whole life carbon management into projects and ways of working. Karen was a member of the Technical Advisory Panel for the recent PAS2080 update and is currently leading a team of carbon subject matter experts and digital specialists in developing a platform that facilitates conversations with clients around carbon, and provides practical guidance on carbon reduction both for individual projects and across project portfolios. Karen also founded the AtkinsRéalis Carbon Academy, an intensive training programme aimed at upskilling future carbon leaders.
