Working with government, investors, and innovators to shape the UK’s Net-zero transition, driving innovation, productivity, investment, jobs, growth, and exports.

He works across government on the Net Zero innovation programme board supporting the Net Zero Innovation Board.  Accountabilities include delivering a range of Net zero programmes including OFGEM’s Strategic Innovation Fund and the Energy Catalyst programme, bringing energy access to Africa, SE Asia and the Indo-Pacific.

Other roles at Innovate UK have included running the Low Impact Buildings programme, Head of Agriculture and Food, and interim Operations Director while a new COO was recruited. Ian has an MSc in Renewable Energy, in addition to BSc Information Systems Design.
