Colin is the Director at Innovate UK KTN responsible for programmes in Net Zero and Sustainable Industries. He leads industry facing teams across a wide range of sectors, including Energy, Infrastructure, Transport, Manufacturing, Materials and Chemistry & Industrial Biotech. Colin has worked for 15 years to initiate and develop collaborations and partnerships, working at the interfaces between business, academia, government and public sector to shape collaborative programmes that accelerate innovation and drive sustainable growth. Before joining Innovate UK KTN, Colin worked in industrial materials and manufacturing roles for 15 years, with a specialism in the processing of rare-earth metals and alloys for permanent magnet manufacture. He graduated with a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Birmingham, is a Fellow of IOM3 and a Chartered Engineer.
