2025 marks a climate milestone; thirty years since the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change came into force, and ten years from the adoption of The Paris Agreement. Now, there are only five years until 2030, the year that marks thousands of climate targets set both by governments and private sector entities.
And yet, for the first time in recorded history, global temperatures were above 1.5°C limit for an entire year between 2f023 and 2024, and summer saw climate records broken at land and sea.
