SynchroStor

SynchroStor is developing a novel compressor and expander technology to address the challenges of providing efficient, high-temperature process heat and medium-to-long duration energy storage. 

SynchroStor's innovative compressor/expander technology can generate heat at over 400°C making it well suited for decarbonising industries currently reliant on fossil fuels for heating duty. As part of a heat pump cycle, a single SynchroStor machine can provide heating and cooling to a range of processes. SynchroStor’s first use case is a new energy storage solution built around the core compressor/expander technology. The SynchroStor Pumped Thermal Energy Storage (PTES) System decouples power generation from storage depth, allowing complete flexibility of power and duration of storage to provide a range of value propositions to end users.
