RheEnergise is bringing innovation to pumped energy storage, with a solution called High-Density Hydro®. HD Hydro is a grid-scale energy storage solution, providing 2 to 16 hours of energy storage in the 10MW to 50MW power range.
RheEnergise projects work just like traditional pumped-hydro (PHS) but instead of using water, an environmentally benign fluid is used with 2.5x the density of water in a closed loop system. The introduction of a high-density fluid means that projects can be built on small hills rather than mountains, which in turn means there are tens of thousands more suitable sites available.
