Seequent is helping Calpine provide California with sustainable electricity

The Geysers, located in Northern California, is the world’s largest geothermal electrical operation. Calpine Corporation, a prominent U.S. power company, owns and operates the vast geothermal field, which has provided renewable energy to the surrounding region for nearly 65 years. However, due to extensive development, the steam pressure from these reservoirs began to decline in the 1980s. This posed a threat to future power generation, necessitating an innovative solution.
