RE24 Facilitates another Green Energy Partnership for Keppel DC REIT
Keppel DC REIT (Keppel) and Metlen Energy and MetalsKeppel DC REIT (Keppel) and Metlen Energy and Metals entered into two, 10-year solar power purchase agreements (PPAs)
Keppel DC REIT, a Singapore-based real estate investment trust, designs, develops, and operates data centres globally. Their portfolio includes two co-location data centres in Ireland, Keppel DC Dublin 1 and 2. Keppel DC REIT is previously entered into a successful Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Greencoat Renewables, with the support of RE24. Building on the Greencoat PPA, Keppel DC REIT continues to advance its commitment to sustainability. The data centre operator entered into another two strategic PPAs, again facilitated and supported by RE24. These new agreements are with Metlen Εnergy & Metals, a key energy asset operator and a trader. They engage with renewable energy assets from the development, construction to operation and hold a renewable asset portfolio across the world.

Metlen is supplying Keppel up to 13.6 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of renewable energy annually across the two PPAs. The energy comes from the newly built solar farms located in Goresbridge and Gorey, Ireland.

The agreement caters 11% of the data centres’ total demand and saves up to 6.25 tonnes of CO2 per year. This new renewable energy additions further supports Keppel’s contribution to Ireland’s Climate Action Plan and the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact.

Keppel targets to powering their Irish facilities with 100% Irish renewable energy by 2030 and with these two PPAs, 92% of data centres’ total demand will be provided with renewables.

These agreements, together with Keppel’s recently signed 67GWh wind PPA with Greencoat Renewables evident RE24’s expertise in PPA aggregation and consultancy and reflect their efforts in providing a comprehensive solution tailored to Keppel’s sustainability needs. RE24 was able to support the PPAs execution with contracting, financial feasibility analysis, due diligence and PPA management.

RE24 continues facilitating impactful partnerships and promoting sustainable energy practices that tailored to green power requirements of data centres and other businesses.
