ESG Ratings with Sustainable Fitch
ESG Ratings are among the first products to measure
an entity or transaction’s impact and performance on
environmental and social matters while assessing the
effectiveness and quality of the governance.
They provide a holistic view of the ESG profile and
are composed of three major pillars:
• ESG Entity Rating (ER) – evaluates the entity activities
from an environmental and social perspective, as well as
the quality of governance
• ESG Instrument Rating (IR) for labelled or conventional
instruments – integrates the entity and framework ratings
to allow for an absolute comparison of all instruments
• ESG Framework Rating (FR) for labelled (Use of
Proceeds or KPI/linked) bonds – evaluates the use of
the proceeds raised from the issuance as well as the
strength of the framework
