Archipelago Technology , based in Cambridge, UK, is helping to drive the transformation from plastic packaging to sustainable and recyclable moulded fibre packaging.

Using its high throughput, high efficiency Powerdrop^TM coating technology, Archipelago enables 3-dimensional shapes to be coated with oil-proof and waterproof coatings creating a pinhole-free protective layer while keeping the key benefit of moulded fibre: that it can be re-pulped and recycled.

Archipelago provides its customers with an end-to-end coating solution. We do this by first understanding the barrier performance the coated package needs to provide, qualifying the uncoated containers, agreeing the best coating liquid for the barriers required, and then providing the hardware and Powerdrop coating process to create a reliable pinhole-free protective layer.
