RECOVERY REVOLUTION: In2tec set to unveil state-of-the-art ReUSE® and ReCYCLE™ technology at Innovation Zero

Sustainable electronics pioneer In2tec will proudly showcase its revolutionary technology at Innovation Zero, the UK's largest sustainability conference.

The event, which takes place at London Olympia from April 30 to May 1 and is sponsored by the UK Government, will offer OEMs and the wider electronics industry an in-depth look at In2tec’s sustainable electronics solution ReUSE® and ReCYCLE™, which comprise a closed-loop process allowing manufacturers to repair and reuse printed circuit board assemblies.

ReUSE® is a suite of patented inks, adhesives, materials, and processes and utilises proprietary design techniques to manufacture electronics, while ReCYCLE™ is the ultra-low energy process for unzipping PCBAs to the original bill of materials (BoM). Attendees will see how components are returned without causing stress or damage, allowing for their reuse in other products or resale in the burgeoning second-life component market.

Emma Armstrong, Sustainable Electronics Ambassador at In2tec Ltd, said: “The electronics industry has been crying out for a solution that minimises waste by reusing existing components that, in most cases, have been used for a fraction of their viable lifespan.

“We’re proud to show how our technology allows manufacturers to extend the life of products through repair, and then gain back components and materials for reuse when a product reaches the end of its’ useful life.

“The electronics industry desperately needs to minimise the use of expensive and carbon-intensive raw materials and minerals that are rapidly running out.

“We look forward to demonstrating our ReUSE® and ReCYCLE™ tech to attendees and allowing them to learn more about reducing the costs spent on components and WEEE charges, as well as creating additional revenue streams through the reuse and resale of valuable components and materials.”

Linear economies cause devastating pollution to our water, soil, and air, while raising the earth's temperature to unstable levels. More than 90% of materials are either lost or remain unavailable for reuse. The Global Electronics Council reported that within the 57Mt of ewaste generated in 2021, over $60bn of valuable components were wasted.

Innovation Zero provides a meeting place for announcements, partnerships, deal-making, and collaborations for those who develop, produce, deploy, and fund low-carbon solutions.
